Department of Food Engineering
This department imparts education in food plant and equipment design, thermal and non-thermal means of food processing and preservation, process control and packaging, food material properties and instrumentation. It trains students to apply engineering principles to food processing. It plays a vital role in improving quality in food production by creating safe handling of food processing equipment.
Outcomes of research laboratories needs to be implementing on large scale in industry, hence the role of big machineries is crucial in this concern. Department of food engineering is intended to deliver the technical knowledge necessary to understand the food processing comprising the machineries. Therefore, the department had the number of non-working as well as working models to demonstrate the practical knowledge of machineries. To meet this requirement department of food engineering is well equipped with the following facilities.
